Niccolò Favari

Being a Digital Communication Consultant, I help others to succeed online creating websites and web applications from scratch. I’m a jack of all trades: project analysis, web layout, design, code development, testing, debugging, hosting, system administration, social media marketing and more.

Linux, PHP and Java

I’m used to Linux as I run my own Ubuntu Server (for development and testing). I develop mainly with Netbeans and my languages of choice are PHP and Java (either Java SE or Java EE). I’m all for Object Oriented Programming and clean Frameworks (like Kohana and Zend Framework for PHP, Struts for Java) but I carefully choose my tools based on the project requirements and subsequent analysis.

WordPress, Habari and the Cloud

I know how to use and customize PHP scripts like WordPress (I bend it to my will) and Habari. I develop stuff that runs “in the cloud” (like on the Amazon AWS) but I’m pretty comfortable with “old school hosting” stuff (I manage hosting for my clients).

Speaking of webdesign, I understand and get rid of compatibility issues in browsers (I know how to fix them all). I master CSS frameworks like 960 or Blueprint CSS but I chew raw CSS too. I do templates and designs: from Photoshop (or gimp) to complete, valid, light, clean, readable code (php, html, css).

I like to read and stay up to date with all the various web communities, but I also like to write articles and tutorials.
